what a great initiative by ASDA
By Ellie
"putting checkout operators in control of the number of bags they hand out"

Wow and here was I thinking supermarkets were not doing much to stop people using carrier bags. Now I know who is to blame: it is those checkout operators for not being strong enough to say 'NO BAGS FOR YOU' to people.

Bravo ASDA for going ahead with such a brave and planet saving scheme.
